Kimiya developed Fight Club as a way to address access, affordability and negative stigma surrounding post-traumatic healing, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and to promote Self-care. The 12-week program in Dallas combines boxing, coaching, yoga and group therapy for women.
Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm at our studio in North Oak Cliff. Boxing and self-development coaching are held Tuesdays at 6pm and yoga and group therapy are held at 6pm on Thursdays.
There is a team art therapy project at the end of the program with POETIC, which serves commercially and sexually exploited girls in Dallas. At the end of the program, there's a graduation ceremony with friends and family. Our cohorts have up to 12 members so each student receives full support and care.
Candidates for Fight Club are women over the age of 17 who have endured trauma as a result of human rights violations, including but not limited to: war, persecution or discrimination of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and freedom of speech, violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, poverty and incarceration.
We welcome those who want to address depression, anxiety, low self esteem and PTSD symptoms. Our goal is to empower you to rebuild the relationship with the Self through mind, body and spirit.
For your ability to heal, we ask that applicants are not currently living in an abusive home or relationship; they must not have attempted suicide in the past six months. We request applicants who are comfortable reading, writing and speaking English, as the program is conducted in English.
Spring 2024 applications are open. We ask each woman to make an effort to attend every session to graduate. Program tuition is $864 to cover boxing gloves, yoga mats, course instruction and therapy. Scholarships are available.
