How to Eliminate Negative Thoughts
You know that little voice in the back of your head? The one that screams you’re not good enough, that you don’t belong, that no one likes you? Yea, you know it.
That pesky voice can get you down, but you can take steps to try to eliminate those negative thoughts. That voice may never quite go away, but using these tactics can help you create a new way to deal with them.
Notice the Problem
An important first step to healing is recognition. Notice when you are having negative thoughts and identify that they are just that - negative thoughts and not your truth. If you know what they are, you can begin to stop yourself when you go down that negative path.
Talk Back
Defend yourself against your inner critic! Taking those negative thoughts and thinking through them in a rational way will help you understand the fallacy in those thoughts.
Think of a Friend
Would a friend say those things to you? Would you say those things to a friend? If not, why are you saying them to yourself? Treat yourself with the same kindness you would show to a friend.
Build Yourself Up
Start focusing on positive thoughts and give yourself compliments. By boosting your own self-esteem, you can begin to change your thought processes. Be your own champion, even to yourself.
