Sandra Ostad joined the CitySquare Development team in 2016. She has more than ten years of non-profit experience in the United States and abroad. As the Director of Development, she oversees the organization’s philanthropic strategy, including community engagement, corporate relations, events, grants, and individual giving. As a native Norwegian, she has always been mindful of the inequities and inequalities worldwide but was first introduced to philanthropy and community involvement during her athletic career at the University of Missouri. Since then, she has worked for international and local non-profits, addressing challenges related to poverty, immigration and refugees, women and children’s rights.
While at CitySquare, she has built a sustainable volunteer and corporate engagement program with 3,500 volunteers annually, fostered collaboration and partnership with community partners, and connected thousands of people to CitySqare’s mission. Sandra graduated from Southern Methodist University with an M.A. in Human Rights and Global Studies and a B.A. in International Studies and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Missouri- Columbia. She is a Sue Shear fellow and Southern Methodist University Human Rights Fellow, and consider herself as a servant leader committed to using her platform to make a lasting impact on the community.
